No mods and no problems with coolant at all. In fact, the only problem I have ever had with this truck, in 21600 miles, is the pesty ol egr valve as it related with the stock program. This has since been remedied by Ford with the latest reflash to address it. Other than that, my truck has been a great truck to own. The best I have ever had!

You left one out, tuner with no coolant problems, or head gasket problems. Thats what I would have voted. BTW 11,600 no probs so far, tuner installed at 3K

Guys or gals the reason I posted this poll was very simple in that I have contacted numerous Ford Diesel techs who have all blamed aftermarket programmers, chips, etc etc etc on coolant problems with the 6.0. When asked to explain that claim they all look like they just got caught with babysitter? I do not have a programmer or any, "performance enhancing device" and yet my 05 eats coolant like a worn out date.

No Mods and no engine problems at 17,000 miles.

Had two check engine lights in the past year.

First was for the low fuel sensor not responding. Dealer dropped the fuel tank and replaced the sensor.

Second was for some kind of remote start problem. Truck does not have the remote start option. Dealer said Ford is aware of this and they say it is a computer glitch. They recommended I do not top off the fuel tank and to make sure the engine is turned off when fueling. Apparently adding fuel with the engine running confuses the computer and topping off the fuel tank on fillups aggravates the situation further. I always turned the engine off when fueling and I stopped topping off the tank when the fuel nozzel shuts off.

I agree with the techs on that one. The statement about being caught with the baby sitter doesn't make sense. Programers ,Chips or whatever mod changes the stock program that Ford designed to work with the 6.0 and is know to cause these coolant problems. No secret there. Will there be coolant problems with ou them Yes but not that many. Ford puts warnings all over and people are still surprised when they won't warranty it if it breaks. Look at your own poll over 86% no mods no problems Now if you put a lift kit on it I don't see how that affects coolant . Looks like your in that 3.7% no mods with coolant problems but they should be fixing your truck with no questions. Thats a very small percent compard to how many trucks that are out there. If not I would be looking for another dealer .

Wonder how many with coolant leaks from the tank work their engines hard by towing a significant load. This seems to be the only time my 04 has the "coolant puking" problem from the reservoir.

Happens when pulling my 12,000 lb fifthwheel, but not my 7,000 lb boat.

Wonder how many that have never seen the problem pull less than 10K or never tow at all????

HMMMMMM
