Transmission Conversion

I recently purchased this low mileage very nice condition 1988 F-150 XLT Lariat with a 4.9 and AOD tranny, and was questioning earlier about it having a clutch master cylinder and no cooling lines to the radiator. Well I checked it out further when the weather let me and it has been converted at some time. Who ever did it done an excellent job. It has an oil cooler in front of the A/C condenser. It has been fitted with a radiator that has a oil cooler it it but is not used. I want to use both coolers but have a few questions about this. On the tranny there is an upper and lower connection for the cooler. Which is which? I think the upper is the outlet and the lower the return, not sure? Should I go through the radiator cooler first and the air cooler second or reverse of that. And, should the supply of hot oil from the transmission enter the top or the bottom of the radiator cooler? This truck has 44,000 actual miles on it. I purchased it from an elderly man who had it for about four years and he bought it from an estate sale where an elderly man had passed away. One of them deals where granny cant drive a stick so we will change that. The new linkages under the truck are indeed new Ford and still factory color. I appreciate any help on this matter.
