I have a 91 Bronco with a rebuilt 5.8L but a bad E4OD (reverse is gone). I can acquire an '87 or so half-ton ford 4x4 with 300I6 and a five speed. I want to keep the Bronco and just change the auto over to manual, even if the manual may be the M5OD. I know that it has been discussed to great length on the message board about what needs to be done when switching from auto to manual on these newer trucks. So rather than beat the dead horse even deader, can someone help me find the links within this board to the already dead horse issue? I am just having problems do the search to find what i seek.

try a search for auto to manual swap. everything from the 87 should bolt right in. even the clutch peddle hardware. remember you will need to get a 5.8 flywheel for that setup. do not use the 300-6 flywheel even though it will bolt up ok. figure on buying a new clutch as well. The tranny will hold up fine to modderate use. its when you start runnin it hard offroad that it may fail.
