ADS super chip question

ADS super chip question
The PO of my truck told me it has a performance chip installed, there is a faded sticker on the rear window that says ADS super chip, so im guessing it is chipped. Anyway I'm wondering if the chip could be the reason why I have hard shifts and rich gas smelling exhaust fumes, it does not have any cats so I know that would also make it smell rich. The engine still makes decent power but does have a little pedal hesitation before it revs up. It is a 1990 f150 4x4 5.8 efi with the e40d tranny with 110,000 miles. I think the chip might be causing the hard shifts since the eec iv is suppose to do certain adjustments on the e40d and I dont think the chip is allowing the correct adjustments to be made for a smooth shift, or the right air/fuel mixture, it also doesnt like to kick down at w.o.t. If anyone knows about this I would be grateful for some feed back. If the chip is causing problems then where could I find a stock computer chip and how do I uninstall the ads chip and install the stock chip if there even is one. I know bad sensors would cause my problems also but I just wanna know if I should remove the chip before checking for codes etc.... thanks for reading.
S.N: I read that ADS super chip is old and not even in business any more. I found a image of the box and it did say its suppose to make the torque converter not lock as fast for higher rpm shifts, also its suppose to adjust the timing, spark, and air/fuel mix.

Yes the chip is likely causing all your problems and removing it is easy just find the EEC in the drivers side kick panel and pull the chip off, the computer will then revert back to the factory programming. You may have to disconnect the EEC to get it out and if so disconnect the battery first before disconnecting the main EEC harness.
