Tranny quandry
I have a 1974 F-100 with a 360. It has less than 30K miles on it and in a discussion with the family of the former owner, has never had anything done to the tranny.
The transmission LOOKS like a C6 from the pan, but the window sticker (from the dealer) says it has the Cruise-O-Matic (which I have heard means FMX). The tranny code on the door plate is "G" and according to the shop manuals (originals on CD) this indicates a C4. It was my understanding that they never put a C4 behind the big blocks.
Any clues to figuring out what is going on???
