Engine swap?

Hi i have a 1988 F150 with a straight 6 and a manual tranny, can i swap that engine into a 89 F150 that has a 302 and use the auto tranny that is in the 89? Will the engine mount up correctly. Thanks for any help.

Yes, it will work fine. You'll obviously need to swap the whole engine, including accessories, wiring harness and computer.

Just a reminder to use the correct flexplate for the six cylinder. The one from the 302 will not work...properly.

Also check on that automatic. If it's an E4OD, you'll need a six cylinder E4OD computer and the harness to match.
