Need cheap shifter linkage fix?
Thinking about fixing my shifter. this is a beater truck, originaly was a stick ,now its an auto C4. It has a part of a hurst shifter with 1 little bolt holding the whole thing together. the linkage is a bunch of scrap metal that was welded together to make it work. So the shifter flops around and sometimes it gets hung up. And theres no stop points, so the gears are hard to find, besides being dangerous.
Is there something, aftermarket, that I could install? Its got to be tall enough. I could get a new steering column if the linkage came with it, but eventually I'd like to put a manual trans. back in it.

Hurst Promatic II shifter with the C4 adapter kit. It works perfectly in my 83 302/c6 setup. It utilizes a cable shift system so you can mount it wherever it fits best on the tranny tunnel, provides ratcheting type of shifting and is real solid.
