I have a seller of a bullydog 6 position chip, and full set of gauges on pod for $450.00 dollars. Is this a good deal, and will it work on a 1997 f250 diesel crew cab? I also was wondering if it could read codes to diagnose problems. The seller didn't know if it would or not. He also said it improved his gas mileage quite a bit. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff
Are you asking if a Bullydog 6 position chip from a 99-03 Powerstroke would work in a 94.5-97? Unlike a tuner, you need to have the same PCM code as one on the chip. If you don't have matching codes you can call up Bullydog and they could probably have it reburned for you. A tuner automatically loads its programs on any truck with the matching years.
No, he says it will work on 94.5 to 2003 7.3 diesel, and I was wondering if they can troubleshoot scanner codes. Thanks jeff

What year truck did they come off? Yoy may have to send the chip to bullydog to have it programed for your truck. And unless the gauges came from a 97 or older powerstroke you'll have to get a new gauge mount(if your going in the A-pillar). All in all its not to bad of a deal as long as you don't have to spend for the extra's.
As it goes it was the wrong chip for my truck, he had it installed in a 2000 f250 mine is a 97 f250. I would have to reprogram it to make it work and it would be cheaper to buy a new one. Thanks for the replys. jeff
