cold idle??

cold idle??
my 2000 starts and idles good on cold mornings but after a few niutes it idles up to about 1200 until i either push in clutch or touch gas pedal. comes down then back up after serveral secs or so. only does it when its cold.

they are supposed to. as the temp goes down to around 35deg the engine will go up to about 850 rpm,s. i forget what this is called,it has to do with wet-stacking i think. someone will chime in shortly and correct me. dont worry though,they all do it.

cool makes me happy!!!!!!!!!! i only put 34 miles on it since i got it.....it sure is pretty though. Had the filters changed and washed it. Been sitting awhile at the repo lot!!!
wife thinks i over did it on this one but she loves the room for those long road trips with the trailer.stereo installed last weekend. Backup cam and dvd by new yrs.

Last few weeks, mine has started to do this (high idle) due to the temperature. Also the EBPV is starting to close and has that hissing sound out of the tail pipe. Suppose to help heat up the engine faster. All the EBPV does on mine is to limit my speed (to <20 mph) until it warms up a little. I have to make sure I plug it in at night.
