The F350 in my sig has a bad steering wheel. It is the XL type with the tilt/cruise. The tilt part is worn out and placing less than 5lbs of pressure on the steering wheel will make it collapse to the lowest position. Also the linkage from the ignition to the switch on the column requires some playing with to get the truck to turn on. I don't know how hard it will be to find a steering column this old in a decent condition. Are these repairable or would I be better off replacing it?
I can't read your signature (I use firefox) so I don't know anything about your truck. I would hit the junkyards. You will surely find one if you keep looking. They've been the best selling truck for how long now?
for my 89 f350 i fixed and fixed, then got a whole assembly from junkyard, and then bought a rebuilt one from steeringcolumnsgalore all within a year or two...i wish i wasnt so cheap and got er done right the first time...so far the rebuilt one from scg is just like new and considering how old your truck is i would get one from scg...i dont remember how much, but it wasnt cheap nor was it ridiculously overpriced and if i didnt waste my time and money its probably the cheapest way to do it
i keep telling myself that i am going to stop fixing this truck and get rid of it,but its been about 5 years now that when i fix, i fix it like i am going to keep it another 16yrs because all those cheap *** fixes, shortcuts, etc. are costing me double because i have to redo it

I've been using firefox for about 3 years now. Hover your curser over the word "signature" in the post information bar and it will pop up.
