I put one on my 97 in 2000, then put it on my 02 when I got it and now I have it on my 04. Only a few chips on it and it still runs great. Only problem is that the aluminum bars can seperate if you leave it part way open and do some severe off roading. You have to slide the whole panle out and soap up the rubber where it seperated and slide it back together. Only happened once since I got it, but Now when I'm really off roading I always leave it open or closed, not half open.
Ditto ol supercrew. I work out of the back of my truck every day. I install it when the 2003 SD was new. I must open it 20 times a day. Have never had a problem. One thing, it will leak on the left/right edges. I don't have any thing in that area of the leaks, so it works for me.
I have had one for 2-3 months now, but just installed less than one month ago on my '06 F-150 SCrew. Works great so far. Does leak a little on the sides or R/L rear corners, but not a problem. Thinking about adding a tailgate seal. Eats up some valuable space in the 5.5ft bed, but the benefits for me outway the negative. I use the vehicle for hauling, towing, and as the family travel vehicle, so I need the flexibility.
Anybody have experience with connecting the optional door lock relays so you only need the one remote? I purchased the parts but there are no instructions. Working with Pace-Edwards on that.
