I have the opportunity to purchase (for very little money) an older F100 to compliment my growing Ford collection. The truck has been owned by the same fellow for the past 20 + years. Can anyone help my de-code the information on the door?
Thanks ahead of time for any help...
Serial # F10JK710039
Color WB
Body #281
Trans A
Axle 09
It depends on the year of your truck.
It looks like a 240, 1 bl. carb engine with a 3 speed Ford manual trans if a 1965 F100.
The K in the serial number denotes which plant built the truck, unfortunately I don't have a chart of the plants! The rear axle is either a Ford 9"(no removeable rear cover) or a Dana 44(rear cover), I do not have the axle code info.

Putt: The "consecutive number" is the serial number. Ford set aside blocks of consecutive numbers to use each month, and those were further subdivided among the factories.
