Hi guys, I've been driving around with holes in my doors where locks should go. I ran across these locks on ebay (Item number: 4593755329) and noticed the similarities to what I should have. Anybody have an idea of whether they'll work or not for a 53 f-100? And how hard would it be to get them keyed/a key for them?
I probably should just go ahead and buy the 100 dollarish kit from one of the many suppliers with the ignition cylinder as well. Hey, I'm on a budget!
What other parts do I need as well, besides the pads and clips? Isn't there a rod or something to connect them? I know this is getting long, but one more, I beg pardon... To open my drivers side door, I have to push something down in there with a screwdriver, but my passenger side door opens with a push of the button. Is something wrong? Thanks for your patience. My guess offhand is that they would work. My 1960 F-100, I believe, uses the same cylinders as a '53 Ford truck because the keys are the same. Those do look identical to the ones I have. My only thought is that maybe the little linkages on the back of the cylinders that work the actual lock mechanism might be different.
