I have been looking for a company that makes a drop kit for a 05 excursion 2wd. I cant even find one for a 4wd let alone a 2wd. I also would like to find some wheels, either 22" or 20". what I would like to know is what tire size should I be looking for, I don't want to rub at all, and I want to find a drop kit that levels the truck and lowers it about 3 inches, any help would be appreciated.
if you want a no rub thing for sure, get 22" wheels and find a tire that is the same height as the stock tire. i have an 01X limited 4x4. just ordered a set of 24" wheels and went with a 35" tire. i also have a 3" LIFT on mine.
JOHNNYB, it depends on the with of the tire and wheel and also the backspacing. i currently have 285/75/16 on my X right now and they measure 32.87" on stock wheels. i have taken the X wheelin and they didn't even come close to rubbing. and that was when the suspension was stock. the new tire size will be 315/50/24... they are actuall 36.4" tall. like i said, my truck had 33 with no lift and didn' rub. these tires will be 3.53"taller, but remember, only half the height, 1.76", will be into the wheelwells. its only gonna raise the truck less than 2".........so with the 3"lift i'll be just fine.

Heck, it's cheaper to lift a 2WD than lower it! I found a Fabtech 6" lift for $199!!
Thanks for the heads up, Quick question though. I have heard bad things about the DJM kit, all I was told is, don't go with DJM, from a source that has several lowered trucks. ever heard anything bad?
2 things:
1. The DJM is the ONLY lowering kit for the Excursions so if you want to drop it you're going DJM
2. The price on those links is the two parts listed in the DJM 3/3 drop kit.
I've emailed Styling Concepts to see if they'll price match.
