Leaky Boots

I was walking through some puddles today at work and realized at my boots leaked.

The leak is between the sole and where the leather is stitched to the sole.

What should I do to stop them from leaking? Would a bead a silicone work?

My boots aren't 100% waterproof, but I plan on fixing that later this week. But the waterproofing stuff doesnt help leaks from underneath...

Any help would be appreciated.

There is some stuff called shoe goo that works pretty well. it's basically silicone I think, but it's more adhesive, so it'll waterproof and stay stuck where you put it better. If you can force it into the crack, that'll work better then smearing it on the outside.

Good luck.

I'll give that a shot later this week.

Thanks.

go to Basspro shop, dicks or any other outdoor store you have in your area. get some shoes that have a "goretex" liner in them, they are completely waterproof unless you wear out the lining in them.

I have a pair of goretex boots, however, those are my hunting boots and not my work boots. I'm just looking for a cheap fix so I can still walk through puddles.

I have never owned a piar of gore tex boots that kept my feet dry like they say they are supposed to. No matter what my toes get soaked.

The only problem I've experienced with gore-tex boots is that my feet sweat and when I stand / sit for a while, they get cold.

To counteract this, I've been using wool socks and putting anti-perpesperant deodorant, and it seems to work well.
