I finshed the disk brake conversion on my 64 F-100 yesterday and posted some pics in my gallery. It took me 3 days to get it done and what a difference in stopping.Running the brake line to the right front with the engine in is a PITA!
Congrat's on the success, it is always good to hear when things work right. It is tough to run the lines when the drivetrain is in place, I had the same struggle with my '66.
was this kit something that reqired removing the kingpins ? I've been reading up on this disc upgrade and am very slow to jump as I have no idea how to do the job. where in CA are you ? I'm in Orange County area.
Redmanbob,
You don't have to remove the kingpins but,if you have bad kingpins it's not a bad time to do it when you have the frontend apart.I used the CPP kit they are in Anaheim,CA.It took me about 3 days to do it but,I wound up starting about 10:30 am each day.I'm near SanBernadino.
That looks very interesting and the price seems fair compaired to most stuff I've seen 700.00 for a whole kit sounds very good. But I have a 66 and it would seem the 64 is the last of the line with their kits ?? tell me it aint so..If it is well I guess the advice I was given to just add a power booster to my drum/drum setup will be best..as it's just a camping/boat tugger.
