My 2002 f-150 had a speed limiter of 100mph. my ???? is does my 2005 f-150 have a limiter?? and if so what mph is it? (i would try 2 find out my self but i dont want the ticket
They are speed limited at 100mph, Ive reached 97 several times(including downhill) and the speed limiter kicked in. Now that I have larger tires Im sure I can reach 100mph easily due to lower RPMs at speeds.
man thats not good! is there a way to by pass the limiter (cheap$$$)
Whats cheap? i've read some in here state they got 140 something with a tuner. 110 mph is way fast enough for me. the only limiter that i know of is the rev limiter and i would like to get rid of it but will have to wait.
cheap as in i dont have to spend $$$$$ to git rid of the limiter. BUT theres probably not any thing out there that dont cost $$$$. i dont want to get the tuner, i have read that they dont work very well but i dont know either way. i put a super chip in my 1992 truck and it just used more gas, didnt go no faster in the 1/4 mile i raced it both ways at the track

know whatcha mean. it would be nice if it didnt cost anything to set up these trucks. but it does cost almost an arm and a leg to do anything with them.
That sux! i mean i would never drive that fast if it was unsafe. But 100 m.p.h. in a 120 mph speedometer? I remember the taurus is limited to 110 also and i read through motor trend one day and the road tests also say governed too 110 mph i though they were wrong. Now as i see the truck is actually limited to 110 i also read that the new fusion limited 107 as it was put in 4th place when motor trend was doing the comparing of mid-size sedans between the sonata, accord and camery which all went up to about 150 mph.
The question is how long till the democratics try to introduce legislation to put a limited in all vehicles and try to pass it off as safety for the enviroment
All the there other cars in the side by side comparison all had speed limiter and were going 150 mph! I mean i would not mind speed limiters at all they would just have to be set at a reasonable speed not 100 mph. Come on ford.....
Had an 04 FX4 and now an 05 Lariat, both topped at 102-103mph. The 05 even had a pcm reflash and still is same top end. Super tuner on the way will take care of that though.
If you run LT tires I can't see why you would worry about much higher. I had to swerve to avoid a deer at about 75mph and almost rolled the truck. Kinda gives you a new perception on 100mph rides in a 4x4 truck.
A new 06 with the 20" scorpians may be a different story though....
Really toped out at only 102-103 i will have to find that limited and disable it or take it out sum how although i heard if you take them out the computer will turn ono the check engine light.. 102 is not gonna cut for me
(what r LT tires?)
