I just istalled clearance lights on my 03 f520. It took 3 weeks to get the nerve to make fifteen holes in the roof of my truck. It looks great and I got the all info to install them from this forum. I don't need them thay just look good. Thanks!!
I followed these directions with great success. The only difference was that my Ford Dealer charged around $14.99 per light and about $30 for the harness.
My wife is going to be out of town in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can get it done while she is gone. If she saw our new truck torn apart she would probably use a skillet over my head!!!
Look under passenger side kick plate. My '03 did not have an existing harness (no lighted mirror, etc..). If you have an existing harness just replace it with the new one. The dealer will ask what accessories you have. At the bundle under passenger side kick plate I pulled out a dummy plug and the new harness for the lights plugged right in. The new wiring harness had the five sockets for the lights and several plastic plugs that fit existing holes in the truck making the installation very easy.
This is what is required for a 2005 F-250 Crew Cab, verify with the parts desk about your model year by giving them your VIN #. PM me if you have any other questions.
Kick panel under dash in front of passenger door. It was easy because you don't even need to get it all the way off. Just open it up and the plug is right there!
I had to pay for lights and harness and pick them up a couple of days later, my dealer didn't have them in stock either.
