I have 78 400m with a holley 750 street avenger. Is this too much carb?
Im not worried about fuel milage. I have a holley 600 from another build.
Would the 600 have better throttle response? The motor is cammed slightly with a wiand intake. When I bought the 750 I figured bigger is better. What do you think?
The street avenger carb is actually a 670. I went ahead and put the 600 on it to try it out. It actually idles so much better but falls off sooner than the 670.
One major differince with the 670 is i had to idle it way up so it wouldnt stall when i put it in drive. This was a bitch at stop lights because i had to apply the brakes so hard to keep her still. Is this just lack of adjustment skills? I'll probably keep the 600 on it even though it is less powerful. It just runs nicer on the 600.
What do you guys think?
I think it's due to a lack of adjustment. The 670 shouldn't be too much for that engine and you should be able to get it to idle without dying when you put it in gear. You might try to contact Holley tech support to see if they can help you out.
