My 99 v10 is misfiring. I figured it was one of the coil packs but when I ran my OBDII is showed up with P353 code. Not sure what this code is, anyone one have any ideas?
It only misfires every once in a while, not consistant.
I checked the connectors to the coil packs and all seemed clean. Is there a certain voltage that the connectors to the coil packs should put out?
The code is"P0353 Ignition Coil C Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction "
I actually have a 99 factory manual, but they do not list a v10 in the section where it tells you what code relates to what cylinder.
Have you checked/changed the sparkplugs lately? Start with the easiest and most common things first.
If that doesn't fix it, what I would do is swap coils around and see what codes you get. If you start getting different codes, you can figure one of the coils is bad and go buy a new one.
I know this sounds stupid(maybe someone else has some info on what coil it is), but you could swap the new coil pack in, exchanging it for each one till the code went away.
Looking at my buddies ODBII reader it has P0353 Ignition Coil "C" Primary/Secondary...It's manual has "A" through "L", like for 12 cylinders. I was thinking that "C" was the #3 cylinder on the right bank, but I replaced that Coil pak about 3 months ago with a brand new one.
I'm gonna try swaping #3 coil pak with #2 and see if it comes up with a different code..
