Bumper fitment - what's the difference?

Looking at an aftermarket (new) bumper for my '77 F150 4x4. The one I'm looking at fits 64-77, my question is what changed in'78?

Thanks.

John.

The styling of the front bumpers changed in 78. The main difference is around the license plate area. The 78-79 bumpers were a little bigger and had a protruding section along the upper front part of the bumper with a cutout in the middle license plate area, whereas the 77-older bumpers were more smooth with a slight indentation where the license plate goes. However, a 78-79 bumper will fit on a 77-older truck.
