Hey Guys,
I was really excited about winning a manual transfer case on ebay for 110.00. However the guy never sent the Transfer case. Was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on what to do. I have a phone number and the mail address I sent the check to was a house. what steps would you guys take. please help.
About all you can do is what he said. But the only thing Ebay will do is ban the guy from selling on Ebay anymore. If the address was near enough I'd drive over there and take care of it personally. If you used PayPal they could get your money back pretty easy. I just went through that last month.
old blue, are you sure that the transfer case wasn't ever shipped at all or was it shipped and lost? Maybe hes waiting for the check to clear? When did you send the check?
How much time has elapsed since the transaction? Maybe the seller just needs some motivation to get the part out, I would contact him first. If it becomes obvious the seller is trying to roll you then the fraud steps previously posted may be your only recourse.
Ebay can suck somtimes.
Got burned for 100 bucks on a computer once.
Dont wait longer then 2 weeks "thats were I made my mistake"
The guy said the computer was comming and even gave me shipping info that looked legit.
Contact Ebay with a complant they will give you sellers Address Name And Phone #
If its been over 2 weeks and your check is been cashed you are about to learn a $110.00 lesson. ALWAYS USE PAYPAL !
You will have better luck getting money back thru paypal because they have sellers banking info.
The jerkwad who burnt me said it was lost in shipping.
I wire transfered money never recived squat he would not take paypal.
OBTW ebay wont care if the guy sells or not they let that crap slide all the time.
Ebay is geared towards the seller not the buyer.
The guy who bent me over is still selling stuff even after he has lots of neg. feedback.
Good luck hope it turns out better for you then it did me.
If all else fails post the guys address and see if maybe someone close him can give him a chance to do the right thing. I helped a guy on another site who had a problem with a guy here in the DFW area. Amazing how cooperative they become when they find out a real body is willing to make a personal visit to assist with delivery....
you can also file a mail fraud complaint with his local police dept, and they can knock on his door it's amazing how fast that gets them moving sometimes.
He tried to "mail" it before Veteran's Day, but said post office wouldn't ship due to weight. I sent a money order so i can't cancel the check. Said he was going to us UPS and and that was the last time I talked to him. He is located outside of PIttsburg if someone would like to drive over for me since I'm in Texas That would rock. I guess email me to get his address and Phone Number.
Looking at what's been posted, I'm wondering if the guy sees a big $$$ freight bill (has to use common carrier) and decided to "opt out" of completing the transaction, seeing that you're in Texas, he has your money and what can you do?
First time, my Dad bought a 429 big block, which turned out to be a total dud. We threatened to sue the seller, and he took it back and refunded the money to us.
Second, and more related to yours, we bought a couch and the seller turned out to have taken the money and run. But unlike youself, we paid through PayPal, and they returned $1000 of the purchase price to us.
Do as the others say; you may have to eat this one, but next time (if you still buy on EBay, which I don't), pay through PayPal, they handled our problem promptly and without complaint and they come highly recommended because of it.
I had this happen to I ended up getting the person phone number and address from ebay and call his local police and they took care of the matter for me by contacting the person and was going to file a charge on him the person ended up calling me and then sent my money back try this most likely the people who do this on ebay are in trouble with police anyway
