Happy thanksgiving to you and all your families. hopefully it will be a safer weekend than it started out. I hae already seen 2 bad accidents, and heard about a couple of others so not off to a great start but if everyone drives safe or stays home maybe we can go the rest of the weekend without a major accident.
Glad I run backroads, not as much traffic, heard on 80 and 380 had fatalities. Hope everyone had a good day, I was up to Marengo for a few days, internet there since the phone lines were upgraded is slower than molasses in January, so I don't get on much when I am there.
well back roads aren't always safe either Wed morning on my way to Peoria I came up on an accident shortly after it happened a mini van hit the trailer duals on a swift truck hard enough that it removed the tire from teh rim, and bent the rim over so that it will probably have to be torched off to get to the lug nuts, and scattered debris for over 150 ft. I don't know if it was a fatality or not but I would be more suprised to here not than that it was but no mention of it on the news, but that doesn't suprise me at all since I haev seen several major fires in fairfield in the past 2 yrs and not one mention of the fact that a couple of major buildings on the square burned to the ground, or when I still was farming had a tornado cross my property and no mention of any tornados in the state basically they seem to ignore the southern 2 tier counties guess they figure we are not iowa but actually missouri.
Yea, I heard over the holiday week, there were a few fatalities, the State Troopers come in where I work, and fellro would know this place, across from Tanger Mall. So I hear all about them and get to B.S. with them too.
You work at that place? What shift? I get in there kinda regular, my mother and aunt are out there alot, if you know an older lady and her blind sister, you know my mother and aunt... I'm sure you get to hear a lot with the troopers and local cops coming in ther all the time. Back when it used to be 24 hour service at the restaurant, the Marengo cops would leave town about 2:30 A.M., so we were free to do whatever we wanted for a few hours... hmmm, don't have any idea how those burnout marks got on that sidewalk....
I know what you mean about the news there Rob, Cedar Rapids doesen't care much about south of Iowa City, Des Moines doesn't care about much out of town, KTVO might have said something, but Kirksville and Ottumwa are it's main, and Keokuk barely rates a mention most of the time... The nice thing about backroads is less traffic, so if you're paying attention, you have an out at most times, where in heavy traffic, you escape routes are not as readily available.

That is your mom and sister, I love them, they are hilarious. Usually weekend days and nights during the week a couple days. I usually get to wait on them a couple times a week, or just BS with them a lil bit. I remember a cop passing out in his biscuit n gravy there when we were open till 11, it was hilarious. I'll have to say something to your mom and sister next time they are in, see what they say..lol. I'm pretty hard to miss there, idt anybody else has my name..lol. Do you know Louie Rowe, in a wheelchair, drives a lowered light blue S10, or a 57 chevy panel, or a number of other cars?
