I answered your Trans question back in the 61-66 forum, but to add to it, that shift pattern doesn't sound like a Dana24. It may be a Dana21, a NP 203, or a NP 205. Normaly, the shifting should be:
2wd - 4wd high - neutral - 4wd low
If it shifts only in only 3 positions, then its either:
2wd - neutral - 4 wd. no low range
or:
4wd high - neutral - 4wd low. with an all time 4wd system.
it sounds like someone swapped a few things around on your truck. Post some picks of your setup in your gallery and someone should be able to identify what you have
1 3 R
2 4 5
From the stop i can take off in the 5th so i think its a low gear not the OD model, don't have the nerve to shift to that gear going 50mph.
oldhalftons is right. If you can take off in 5th gear, it isn't really 5th gear then is it? Looking at your pics you definitly have the Clark 5 speed. Medium duty or Heavy duty I don't know, but it is a Clark. Overdrive is in what is normally consider 4th position. Start in 2nd gear for normal driving and use the gear below reverse (1st) for starting out when dragging a house or something.
