Greatings, Everyone, I have a 94 explorer that cranks but wont run . Test that have ben made. Spark from plug good, fuel rail 42 PSI , install new crank sensor, compresson 170 PSI, engine cranks over great.
keep alive code 211 pip and on demand codes 539 and 513. also no injector pulse at injectors
From what I can find in the manuals 211 is an ignition related code, 539 is A/C on during self test (?) but 513 is internal voltage failure in PCM. This could be bad news.
If there is a PCM failure and it is affecting timing (spark and/or injectors) that is indeed a problem. Check the connections at the PCM and any grounds for corrosion and proper seating.
You did confirm actual spark at the plugs and tested for fuel at the injectors. How did you test for these?
FYI - I got a back-up PCM for my 94 from a U-Pull Wrecker for $20.00 so it may not be a huge problem if it turns out to be the PCM. It is hard to find the 94 model in the yards though.
I checked for fire with a extra plug in one plug wire end and by removing the wire at 2 of the 6 coils. good spark. I have batt voltage at one pin at the injector harness but no ground pulse ( that should go bck to the pcm ) on the other I used a mechanics light for this test. Then I poured a small amount of gas in the intake pipe and the engine started and ran for 3 to 4 secs. I have 42 psi rail pressure and no ground signal to the injector from the pcm. Pat
Fixed!!!!!! I put in a reman computer in from an auto supply, now the injector wires to the computer are signaling the injectors to open and let the gas flow. Thanks for the help , Pat.
