melting intake gaskets?

i have been having problems with my intake manifold gaskets. i have put a holley 4 bl intake on with edelbrock 1405. the 1st time it leaked oil at the back. the 2nd time it was leaking at the front. when pulled it off on the 2nd time it looked like the gaskets were old/shreded/melted. i have now looked at the 3rd set on the front and it looks like they are melting again? what is causing this. the truck does not run hot. temp stays at mid range, has new thermo. what can i do, options anyone, i like my carb setup, is it that my intake cooling holes dont match up? help me please!! i think it is a holley dominator intake?

I used a set of Mr. Gasket, and didn't us the frount or rear rubber. I took a center punch and about every inch dimped the block and intake and used red high temp on it.

There are no "cooling holes" on a 351M/400. The intake is dry, no coolant runs through it. I seriously doubt the gaskets are actually melting, if they were I'm sure you'd be seeing other symptoms. I'd take 74 F100 351m's advice and eliminate the front & rear rubber seals and use silicone. Edelbrock recommends the same thing.

I also used sealer rather than the rubber gaskets and it worked great. I've had trouble with the rubber kind on Chevy 350s before, so I thought I'd try something different this time.
