Hello, does anyone know if Ford has a site to check for recalls on your vehicle? I ask because my 91 aerostar went up in flames due to a bad ignition switch that was under a recall that I was unaware of. Thanx.
Recalls and TSBs are available on the NTSB's website. It is easily searched and is worthwhile to explore.
Ford has a website devoted to Ford Owners. Free registration. Should have a link from Fordvehicles.com. There is a spot to check for open recalls for your vehicle's VIN.
(1) just click on the sideways arrow to the right of "Recall Information"
(2) then click on the brand you have beneath the "Check your vehilce Status" banner (ie: Ford Lincoln Mercury etc etc)
(3) just type your VIN in the blank box then hit the sideways arrow to the right of the blank box and any recalls particuar to your vehicle will come up!
You know..I was curious about this site as it stated there were no recall campaigns active, expired, or completed for my 94..so I called Ford..come to find, their online DB no longer supports 'legacy' models past 1997 to include their recall per the rep I talked too. Anyone able to confirm this.
NTSB shows all the recall and TSB's for the vehicle...I know that ford dealers can run the list (pulled and there is 1 outstanding recall issue that they are going to be doing tomorrow).
