Dodge Challenger, Maybe coming to a dealership near you!

Just saw this on the net and figured i would share. Check out the links:

http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosins...A01-388656.htm

http://autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103629

I'm not sure whether or not i like this car, it might have borrowed to much from the orginal for my liking. But its nice to see some interest by the big three in the pony car segment. There's talk that GM may enter the segment with a new camaro built on a stretched kappa platform.

The first picture in the second link looks like a Foose car.

Well if FORD can make the new retro look mustang look as hot as it is. You can't blame Dodge for trying it..... especially since they started the retro craze a few years ago. I won't ever buy a new Challanger...but it looks cool.

Hope it turns out as well as the mustang. The charger was a serious letdown.

It's a DODGE. It'll be just as bad as everything else they build.

I'm not going into the long story here, but my 05 Dakota was a POS.

Now, on to Chevy....a buddy of mine just got an Uplander as a company vehicle. It has 600 miles on it & is going to the dealer today because of a burning oil smell & a low oil pressure light. Last night, he's in another one that a co-worker has. They got them at the same time....and the low oil pressure light comes on!

If it's not a Ford, or *shudder* Asian.....I ain't buyin' it!

I like it, it looks a lot more like the old challenger than the new charger does. I kind of like the charger car, but the name does not belong on it. I only see one body line that is somewhat remeniscent of the original chargers.

That car will kick some butts if it actually comes out, and they don't make the Fusion mistake of sticking a 4-banger front wheel drive in it
(how in blazes did a concept car with a V-10 427 end up like THAT?)

Looks like Chrysler finally removed their heads from their posteriors, where they were when they did the Charger.
If they'd built the Charger with the stock-car body.. well that would be different.

As far as the Camaro goes.. 2009? Too little too late. GM will be toast by then.

I actually like it a lot. I think it's looks modern with a '70 flare about it. I think DCX would be a fool not to build it.

BUT

This is future I see for it IF built:
3.5L V6
Autostick tranny w/ no manual option
Trac. control
Durability / Reliabilty Issues

In a word: POO!

yeah, i could see it going that route too, and that would suck, after how the charger went, they really need to hit the nail on the head with this one, then redesign the charger to be what it should have been all along

that would be REALLY cool if they would build it exactly like the picture, but as stated above DODGE SUCKS!!! My dads 99' Ram got a cracked windshield and split dashboard, and they refuse to repair it, something about warranty of a second hand vehicle, cause he bought it used about 3 years ago. Now keep in mind, mechanically the truck hasnt had anything replaced in it except the battery, which was original since we got it, so its not a total POS.

I just hope that the new Challenger's will be alot better than the Mitsubishi built Challengers of the late 70's/early 80's but I'm not expecting it to be any better than the early 70's Challenger's.

To bad Plymouth is no longer around, I'd love to see the 'Cuda make a comeback.

Im sure the base model will be a v-6, but there should be a R/T version as well as SRT just like the charger. Those will be hemi powered. Unfortunately it probably wont have a manual option but who knows.
