Hey everyone. I have a problem with my ford f-150. It has a 390 with 4bbl and c-6 tranny. The other day I found some real thick mucky oil in my radiator. I know that isnt a good thing but what could be causing it? If the motor is bad, should I replace with another 390 or go with something different. I want to use it as my daily driver again, but I drive about 55 miles round trip to work. what kind of set up would make the old girl a little more economical. The power is nice and fun but I would trade it for better mileage. thanks in advance.
Just click on the "search" icon, then search under the keywords OIL IN ANTIFREEZE in this forum one year back, there is a complete thread on this topic.
Sounds like a possible cracked block or leaky head gasket or intake.

I had the same problem with my 1977 ford f250 w/c-6. Ran it from Cleveland to Louisville and had oily crap in radiator. Changed the radiator and problem solved.
