4.2 high idle speed ?
My 1998 f 150 runs great and gets good gas mileage. but it does seem to idle a little high it runs very smoothly and I dont think there are any vacumn leaks.
It has a 5 speed and this may be normal. Any info would be appreciated

if your idle is above 1200 rpm with engine warm. on a 4.2 there is a idle air control valve(IAC) on top of your intake plenum. It is on the very top of your engine as soon as you open the hood. When it is idling high whack it with something (not to hard) and if your idle changes replace the iac
