Hey all,
I have my 89 F-150 stripped to just the frame. I'm going to have it sandblasted, and then I'm going to repair anything that needs it. I'm thinking of boxing in the frame inbetween the four middle crossmembers. I need to know what to whether or not this is a good idea or not. I don't want to weaken the frame. Tips? Ideas? Thanks
Timmy
if it is done right it will make it stonger. but you need a welder that has the amperage needed to do the job. or else you end up with nothing more than added weight. it is only as good as your welds.
Good welds is no problem, I have the equipment and the skill But I'm worried about the heat treating, is the going to creat weak points? Remeber that I will only be welding in plates in between crossmembers. SO I just want to make sure it won't cause heat treating issues and weak spots.
Thanks
Timmy
