I have had this truck for about 6 months now. When I first got it, it had the P0171 code and was running a bit loopy, popped the hood and sure enough the hose to the pvc valve was disconnected. That fixed that problem for a while.
Now the other day it came back. Got it pulled at a parts store again and it was P0171 (lean bank 1) again. Oddly enough it runs fine though, idle is a bit rough but not really all that bad. I don't have a tach so I can't see idle changes, only can feel them. I checked for vaccum (sp?) leaks and couldn't find any. From here I don't really know the logical steps to take to figuring it out. As far as I know of possible culprits are leaking exhaust, leaking intake, low fuel pressure and bad 02 sensor. This weekend I am going to clean the MAF out with carb cleaner and see if that helps at all. From here what steps would you guys take to figure it out?
check the hoses for cracking and take off your pvc valve and shake it if you here clicking its still good. make sur ethere is nothing clogging your TB idling openings for restictions in air flow
