Third brake light socket

Third brake light socket
When I changed my 3rd brake light bulb (the one on the back of the cab roof with the cargo lights) I noticed the socket was black and brown and burnt. The housing looked ok and the cargo light sockets looked normal. The new bulb worked, but has anyone else seen this happen?
