When pulling a fiver the air will hit the front of the trailer and go up over the trailer and down into the bed of the truck. Thats why they are louvered to let the air out . If there is no trailer there the air goes over the cab and out the rear. I have had things actually get sucked out of the bed pulling my fiver because of all the air that hits the front of the trailer goes down and will create a vacuum as it goes under the trailer .
false. and dont ever drive with the tailgate down because it beats itself to death when u hit a bump and might fall off in front of the cop that was following you cause he couldnt read your license plate. plus if u get rearended itll do a lot more damage. but runnin with it off or down wont cause your bedsides to flap useslessly in the wind. thats good old rust at work.
True. It will save gas by reducing drag, but the difference isn't worth leaving the tail gate down. Might as well leave it up. I might leave it down on windy days, for I do notice the tailgate dragging my truck on those days, but otherwise don't even bother leaving it down. Those queer nets won't save you much in mileage either. :-)
