Hot tranny

hey yall, ive recently got a 02 150 2wd 5.4 auto 45,000miles. my old truck like most other cars after driving it hard when you get out and leave you can hear it clicking and poping from everything cooling down. But with this truck ive notcied if even on very nice driving never exceding 2k rpms it still clicks kinda loud and alot. and tonight i ihad to hook up the trailer and go pick up my freinds 4wd amigo 30 miles away. After getting back into town the transmission was making tons of those like clicking cooling down sounds. my old truck didnt make that much noise after 30 mins of continous dounts in a feild (oh the memories) so i was wondering if this is anything to worry about if i have a clog or somthing or if changing the tranny filter might help? oh yea 5.4 pulls like a hauus it dominates the old 5.0
thanks

the tranny won't make any sounds while cooling down. the only thing that will is the exhaust system.
