When I was rebuilding this carb tonight I noticed an extra, threaded hole, just up and to the right of the right hand (looking at the front of the carb) idle mixture screw. I didn't take anything out of this hole, what's it for and shouldn't it have something in it? Application is a '82 F100, 302.
So, I'm pondering this extra hole and now I'm wandering if maybe somebody put that there because they were unable to tune it enough with just the 2 mixture screws, due to all the the problems this truck had....I can't figure what else it would before, I'm taping over it until I get an answer from one of you guys in the know
Best guess is the emmissions vacuum port but it usually has a small tube sticking out of it. I had the same question a while back and posted this thread - see if it helps. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=404114
That is the same port mine had a ton of emissions hoses hooked to, including the vacuum advance. I rebuilt the carb and did away with all that crap and hooked the vacuum advance into this port. Is this a good port to hook it too??
That port often supplies ported vacuum to the EGR system. These ports usually have a stem to hook a vacuum line to. Does it run through all the way to the throttle bores? It might be soldered shut.
The vacuum port for the ignition advance on a 2100/2150 is located on the right(passenger) side of the carb just in front of the throttle bore at the base of the carb.
