I know its getting to be the wrong time of the year for this but....... If I turn the ac on max or the vent section it doesn't seem to blow out there. It does however blow out of the defrost ducts. I am understanding that this is a "default" setting due to low vaccum. I have "tested" this theory out by letting of the gas pedal quickly and coasting. Sure enough most of the time it will start coming out the corect vents. Any idea on how to fix?
do you have a check engine light on? because if it is a engine vacuum leak it would run real rough. my guess is someone pulled the hoses off with their feet . it is very easy to do . i would pull the panel and look for disconnected hoses.
I don't know where it is..But there is a check valve in the system somewhere. Ford used to put it close to the battery. Just follow the vacuum line that goes through the firewall to the dash. Start at the firewall and work your way back to the engine, you will find it. Either the check valve has failed or the vacuum line has broken....
