Anyone having a problem with the black paint coming off their F150 emblems on the sides of the vehicle? On the passenger side, its coming off. I take my truck to a carwash that hand washes not your machined car washes, so I know high pressure not the cause.
I too am having the same problem. I went to the dealer yesterday (Saturday) and they said for me to go to the body shop and they would order new badges for both sides. The service rep. said that they are covered under warranty as long as you haven't gone past the 3/36 warranty. I plan on going back there this week to get them ordered.
It has been a common problem on the F-250s. I had both mine replaced about 3 months ago {F250} no problem at the dealer.
I was at the dealers body shop on an unrelated matter and a customer and a manager were talking about the same thing. The manager called it a "recall". That is the first I've heard of anything "official" that was being done so I don't really know if there is truly a recall on them.
You could just remove all the black and leave it chrome, that is my plan if the new ones start to peel.
Yep, it's almost off on the tailgate emblem and started peeling on the driver's side emblem. A friend of mine also with an '05 has had the problem the passenger side so far.
I had to get the emblem on the drivers side replaced on my 05 supercab.
Same deal , paint peeled completely off . The emblems are plastic and are glued in place. Tech had to take a heat gun to get the old one off . It melted in the process of being removed . FYI.
