heheh.....I don't know if you are where I am, but in my part of the Pacific Northwest, they are very rare....there are 2 that I pass on a regualar basis (I drive about 30 miles a day to/from work), and those are the only ones I ever see....when I was looking to buy a truck...I was looking the same thing you are, and there was only 1 or 2....and they were hunks of burnin love that had been beat all to hell and back....falling out the ugly tree and hitting every branch on the way down....unfortunately I was needing something that could be an immediate daily driver, which turned out to be a 2wd supercab my neightbor had.....Hopefully I will be able to scrape up enough money soon to be about to get a 4wd project truck
I Have only seen one 79. I am lucky enought to have a 78 though. Ur right it has hit the ugly branch but after a couple thousand she should look pretty. The 79 i seen down in tenasee on a road trip and it looked liked the people used it for a dumpster. I went to 3 junkyards this weekend and its amazing because i didn't see one super cab.
Well that figures, i always fall in love with the rare stuff. I'm on my way to being broke, oh well, i'll keep on looking. one of these days i reckon i'll come across somethin. thanks
I Live in central California, and I have only seen 2 of them, and only in the last week. I have heard unbelievable stories on how these are bought for less than $600! makes me want to cry. I seen one advertised here for really cheap too (was pretty thrased) It was in washington I think.
Tony
they are pretty rare, but we have a 79 f-150 xlt lariat supercab 4x4, p/s, pb, cruise, tilt, sliding window, dual tanks not a spec of rust, perfect interior and paint, two tone blue and white paint with 6 inches of lift and 35 mud terrains and a built 460 c-6np205 all with 4.10 gears , this whole truck is pristine, we got it from montana in a car lot for 7000 bucks, i built the motor, did the lift and many other small things to fix her up, im all the way down ehre in georgia and i have never seen one like it, but its been for sale for a few months, and we dont even get calls on it, i woudl think there would be more intrest in a truck like this, oh well
There was one for sale on classifieds 2000 awhile ago. If I remember it had a 460 C6 and 8' box. Was blue in color and it was located in Ste St Marie Michigan.(That is in the upper part) I don't recall the price but it looked like a clean truck. If I was looking that might have been the one. Good luck.
by supercab do you mean 4 doors or an extended cab. i just got rid of a '78 f250 ext. cab 4x4 that had the square headlight setup that was on the '79s. i know the guy pretty well and if you are interested in it e-mail me.
also my cousin has a '77 4 door f250 4x4 that he'd probably let go for cheap (actually i know he would). anyways, if yer around central IL. it might be worth checkin out?
here in southern ohio i only know of two and i've only seen one. the one i've seen is pretty rough and has a 80's bed on it. the other i saw in the local paper. it was just a week after i bought my 78 f-150 4x4 regular cab. it was a 79 4x4 and had a 460 in it, they wanted $2000 for it so it must have been decent. if i hadn't of bought my truck i would have bought it. thats the way things go i guess
just today i was in peoria IL, and saw an extended cab F150 4x4. didn't get to stop to check price or anything as i was on my way to take my cousin to the doctors office.
