I ddint post it as a link, I posted it as a picture, which club FTE memebers are allowed to do, straight out of the horses mouth.
Apparently it got changed to a link by a moderator......sigh
It works for me, I just clicked on it, so im not sure what "blocked" means, is it working for everyone else? I sure hope the link at 28kb saves everyone all that precious loading time of 1/2 second at dial up speeds, because now it wastes my time of many minutes to try and help someone....

You're not gonna get much done with the idle/air screw at the base of the carb. That only adjusts the idle and part throttle mixtures.
What I'd do is drop the fuel level just a bit. There's probably a tang on the float you bend to adjust the height of the fuel in the bowl. Tweak it up just a bit so it closes the needle and seat sooner. That will lower the fuel level which will result in leaner mixtures at all operating ranges.
Watch your plugs tho. That marshmallow tan description at the tip is right on and what you don't want is gray. That's lean meaning it's getting too hot in there and ultimately you could hurt a piston, so be careful.
What would be even better is a rebuild kit. That'll have a new needle and seat and usually there's instructions on where to set the float. Besides a good soaking in carb dip the only other issue is the pump circuit. May be a diaphragm, could be a piston type. Usually there are associated checkballs to keep the circuit full. But it's that simple.
The only thing that normally kills a garage guy on rebuilding these old carbs is a worn throttle shaft. The resulting intake leak past the shaft messes up the idle circuit.
Hope that helps.

Icicle, The perfered method of sharing images is by linking them, and doing so from your gallery. Most folk don't know how to resize them so that they fit in the window. Others may not want to look at them at all. It does give an interested member a chance to see it without spilling the text over mulitable frames on the ones that are too large. Your link was too large and I asked up and it was addressed.
