My hat goes of to this system. Man, I never knew my bronco could stop so fast, and not lock up the back brakes!! My stock brake booster did. This is one of the best investments ive ever made for her. It still needs some brake in, but man does it stop on a dime. It will definitly take some getting used to, but will I. Living in suburbia NJ, the amount of people that cut you off, you need this upgrade. Here's the link incase anyone wants to get this wonderful product http://www.hydratechbraking.com/products/ford_trucks/ Talk to Paul he was very helpful.
JSM, no, this unit was installed by my local mechanic. I live in a condo now that doesnt provide a garage of any sorts so its beena drag. However it was only 3-4 hours w/of labor. Thats what the guy where I bought it from said it would take. The system is great b/c it came w/everything, every nut, bolt, line, fitting, everything. I would say if you need to replace, do it with this. Dont f@#$ around w/the brakes right. The only brake line mods that i have a stainless extended ones and thats it. Other than that, its a brand new power steering pump and all is stock.
What mechanic cj?...if you don't mind me asking. I'm in Philly / south Jersey / always down the shore for a Mack n Manco's run, and wouldn't mind knowing another mechanic worthy of my Bronco and trust.
Not a problem at all man. He's near Asbury Park in Tinton Falls. His name is Pete and owns the gas station the garage is at. his phone # is 732-222-6400. Theres only one other place that is worthy of mine and they do all drivetrain work. Mr.Driveshaft in Farmingdale NJ. His name is Sal and their number is 732-938-4118
Perfect...my universals are ready to go too. Someone also mentioned Camper Bob (I think) in Mount Holly, but I don't know any of the info. I'll have to look it up again. Thanks CJ
Yeah i've heard the name camper bob before but have no experience with them. Mr. driveshaft is a great place an have fair pricing. I'd give both a try. IM sure Camper Bob's is closer to you.
Camper Bob does excellent work but can be on the pricey side. He's been around forever and is much closer. There is a shop I believe in Tabernacle NJ that also deals with 4x4's , not sure of the name but I will try to find out, came recommended by a friend that lives out there,he says the price is better there than Bob's. I'm in Philly too and it sucks not having a place to work on my truck. Good luck...
