When my dad was younger he used to ride motorcycles and he was in the city one night obeying all the traffic laws and some one ran a red light and hit him breaking both his legs. He was in the hospital for 7 months or something like that. Now coincidentally I'm not allowed to have a motorcycle

I lost my left leg above the knee on a motorcycle 27 years ago. It was my fault, but accidents on 2 wheelers aren't very forgiving.

My dad did also, someone ran him down an embankment right before I was born. The hospital was able to reattach his leg (against all their good sense) and it ended up working out 2 inches shorter than the right leg.

Never had an accident on the street, but then, I never rode on the street. Dirt only.

Knew someone a long time ago who was speeding fast enough that when he hit the back of a truck, it snapped the axle of the truck.

He survived, but unfortunately after he hit the truck, he and the bike, which was on top of him, slid on the edge of a curb, sawing off his leg.

I can't imagine going through that.

A bike, like a motorcycle? No, none of those as of yet.

Spent three days in the hospital with a concussion after I hit a mailbox with my face riding down the street way to fast. Hit a nail, front tire popped, I went towards the right side of the street, straight at one of my friends (who's mighty hot if I may say so myself), turned to avoid hitting her and bam. Next thing I remember was the hospital room, it's weird to go out looking at someone, then wake up looking at them again but with a different background.

On a regular bicycle I've been hit by my friend one time, I was stopped and he slammed into the back of my bike somehow and got launched and got scraped up pretty bad. Nothing serious like my dad or the guys with motorcyles accidents though.

Interesting that this came up. Just the other day one of the math professors at my school was struck by a 10-wheeler dump truck while riding his bicycle. I guess he broke his leg in a few spots, his hip, a few ribs possibly some others... but they say he should be alright. I'd say he's pretty lucky

I'm not sure if you are originally asking about a motorcycle or bicycle.?....?....

On my bicycle, I've never been hit by cars or others, but had my fair share of crashes doing stupid stunts, like jumping home made rickity wood ramps, 2 foot concrete drop offs, etc....

My one and only time driving(or attempting) a dirtbike, I was probably 12 or 13 and my buddy just got a kid sized motorcycle for Christmas. He had me come over and asked if I wanted to ride it. I said ya and was sitting on it in a heartbeat. He asked me if I knew how to drive. I said sure.(really I had no clue, but it looked easy enough when he did it.) Needless to say as soon as I pulled the throttle my rearend was flying backwards to the earth real fast. I had time to land on my back, dazed, I looked towards the bike to see it popping a wheely until it finally hit a curb and fell over. Embarassing and hurt my pride more than anything else. We do some dumb things as kids, don't we?

Bicycle? As does every 12-13 year old, I thought I was indestructable. I used to 'surf' on my bike...one foot on the handles, and one foot on the seat, and ride it down a hill (I know it was a stupid thing to do...but man, reading it again?! What a maroon). One day I finally took a nose dive and scraped my face and teeth along the sidewalk. Sucks right? No....I was chased home and bit by a dog as well...that's what brought it to "suck" status.

I used to ride road bikes quite a bit. I can't count the number of near misses that I had. Fortunately they were all misses. I wouldn't ride a motorbike again for transport to and from work. Only for fun on the weekends.

Funny thing is, I think learning to ride motorbikes has made me a better driver, more aware.

I got whacked by a Honda. Probably part of the reason I don't like them. Looked to my side, saw nothing but hood, and woke up in a ditch 20 feet away. Bike was folded in two.
