Front 2 inch receiver for 03

I'm looking for a 2 inch receiver for the front my 03 Expy and am having a hard time finding any. I'm looking to mount a 4 bike carrier on the front of the truck when we go camping with our travel trailer. I can't mount on the camper so that's out of the question
Any ideas.....

What kind of travel trailer? I was faced with the same dilemma last year when I couldn't find a front receiver for my '03. So I had a 2" receiver bolted to the frame of the back of my 18' Terry travel trailer. Worked like a charm last summer and I had a 5 bike rack attached. If you have a tent trailer I can see that being an issue, but you can get bike racks for the top of the tent trailers now.

I have a K-Z 2505 Travel Trailer that has a rear slide. The back bumper is for lookes only (no place to weld anything) and am concerned with the added weight on the slide if I did happen to manufacture anything. My friend had a multi bike carrier on the back of his T.T. and was wondering why the cars were honking. Come to find out, he lost 2 bikes (trailer bounces around alot ) and didn't even know

I haven't found any either. etrailer.com has tons of them but none for that model. I am thinking with the large overhang there is not any made for it but I don't know that for a fact.

I remember old discussions about this. A search yielded these discussions:

I have a 2003 also and would be interested if you find something. Let us know what you find and how it works out.

Seems like I'm not the only one looking. I sent an E-mail to the hidden Hitch Company(thanks for the link to the thread) and asked if they have any any plans to build one for the 03 and later.I'll let you know on their answer. Hopefully someone on the forum has mounted one and could give ideas as to how the fabrication went. I'm not a welder but it seems that if I took stock (based on somewhat of a template from another hook up) and utilized the holes from the tow hooks (never used them), something could be done.

With the capabilities of the expy, I find it hard to believe that we (the 03 and up) are the only people that need but do not have this functionality.

I did a quick search on the web and found two sites for your year.

www.gowarn.com Part# 69594 Price 214.95

www.bodiak.net Part# THH41D Price 185.00

The bodiak version actually uses your tow hooks to mount the hitch. I don't know how dependable it is. Both hitches are too expensive for my taste. I am looking around for something to hold my bikes while I tow a trailer. The hidden hitch is a good option. My year 2001 is easier to find. Good luck.

There were plenty of more sites. I just didn't have the time to look at them all. Do a search for "2003 expedition front mount receiver"

Thanks!

I got feedback from hidden hitch and etrailer.com. Both places don't have, and don't plan on carrying the receiver for the 03 and up. I looked at the 2 sites you gave and they seem worth looking to.
