Talking Wow

I just completed a 500 mile break in on my 78 f-150 4x4, 351m/400 bored 60 over. "414cid"
The rebuild has a new 400 crank kit, a comp 265 deh cam and matching lifters, push rods and springs. Spark is a new Ford Duraspark distributor w/a msd coil.
The Edelbrock 600 sits on a Weiand duel plane intake w/ a 1" spacer.
Now--The point of this message is to ask you all if your similar rebuilds are as wild as this one. IT'S A ROCKET!! I have 33x12 x 15 new tires on it and it could easily burn them off in 2nd. gear when going from 1200 rpm,s to 4000 rpm,s.-and it is as good in the front part of 3rd. gear. Iv'e not tried 4th. gear yet. I'm a little afraid of it.

Note: For all of you who are considering building your 351m/400 into a 414 like mine.---Just gitter' done!!!!
"Knarly" That's my truck's name.

mine sure wasn't. I parked it after 3k miles because I could not stand the mileage. Bought a diesel.

I probably haven't put 100 miles on it since the rebuild, with a brand new engine, carb, radiator, dist, alt., etc.

I'm glad you had better luck than I did, but you did it differently than me.
