Need help With Automatic Sunroof Operation

I feel stupid for asking this but after a month of owning my '01 screw - I still haven't figured out how to accurately stop the sunroof in the closed postion.
Is there a trick to this someone can clue me in on?
I either hold the button too long and it starts to open back up -
or I have to keep tapping the button rapidly to get it to stop as close as I can to the right position.
There doesn't seem to be any "stop" that I can hear or feel.
I did look in the owner's manual but it was no help.
It's obvious I am missing something here.
I appreciate any and all help.

I believe that the sunroof window has a "Auto" switch like on your door window going down. One good push and it stops automatically at full close. At least my daughters car is like that. Althought it isn't a Ford. (And she got grounded for that too! )

The sunroof will look like it is opening again when it is actually closing. When closing the sunroof you will notice that the back will start to come up and then stop. It is not opening again its just pushing the seal up against the roof thats all. But it should stop and not open to the vent position.

Thanks a million folks!
After using your suggestions and sitting in my driveway practicing for ten minutes -
I think I have this licked.
I thought the moonroof was opening up to the vent position when in fact it was pushing it up against the seal - just like you said.
I can hear and feel it thump against the seal now.
My wife really likes the sunroof & I can sleep better now knowing that ten gallons of rainwater isn't in my cab.
I really appreciate the help here.
