Living in NJ the other day it snowed and then everything froze, including my sunroof. A day letter, don't ask me what I was thinking, but I tried opening my sunroof. It still pops up, but will not slide back. Will drop in like it is going to go but will then just stop. You can hear a clicking nose when you hit the button, I'm assuming that is the circuit connecting as if to tell it to go but nothing happens.
I just bought a 2005 Eddie Bauer last week, a few days into owning it I tried to open the sunroof, it popped up and would not do anything else. I brought it back to the dealership where they got it to close. I have an appointment on riday for them to take it apart and chech it all out. I can let you know what they find out if you like. When it was stuck open all it would do was a quiet click when you pushed the button.
Sounds exactly like the problem I have. Well mine will pop and come back no problem, but once i try and get it to slide back it will just sit in the tray and that is it. Please keep me posted on how it goes
Sounds like you probably have something stuck in the track that's preventing it from sliding back like it should. I had that problem when someone threw a bottle cap and it landed right in the track. Kept it from moving and made that clicking sound. Look around up in there and see if something is jammed in the track.
sorry, I should have specified that mine was stuck in the open position... so it was easy to see the track. Hmm... if it's stuck in the closed position, that's going to be a problem. Sorry.
No, to pop it up and down it works like a champ, its just when i go to have it slide into the roof, it will just drop into the tray and stop. Guess im going outside now to see if i can just see anything with it popped up.
I don't have much for info, but I went to have my sunroof fixed and they said that they were going to have to replace the motor and modulator. I didn't ask any questions since it is being covered by warranty.
I have a problem with mine as well mine pops up no problem slides open with no problem but when you go to close it it gets almost all the way closed than stops. You have to get up there and push down on the window t get it to go past the spot it gest stuck. To me it looks like its getting hung up on the rubber gasket???
On my 02 Navi, the plastic piece that goes on the track broke in half and the motor wouldn't pull the glass into the roof, only vent it up, or drop it.
Does anyone know if there are replacement parts for the sunroof assembly? I bought a complete sunroof assembly from the dismantler and I have my original sunroof here in my garage, it only has the broken plastic pieces that go on the track.
