first welcome to FTE. This is a great site for info on all Makes and modles of trucks and SUV's.
Now for your problem. Check the Fuses. Use a test light to do this. Check all the fuses just to make sure the cruise isnt tied in with something eles. If you use a test light you should be able to check the little parts of metal on the end of the fues. There are two on each one so check both sides to make sure you are getting power. I think the key has to be on to do this. Another way is to use a mutilmeter and check for continuity between the two metal spots on the end of the fues. The reason I say to do it this way is I have seen fueses blown that you could not tell they were by just pulling them out and looking at them. GL
Not the back up lamps, the brake/stop light lamps. If one of them is burned out, the cruise won't set.
You can check them by turning the emergency fashers on, as they use the stop lamp filiments.
If they & the fuses are ok, are you having any speed-o, ABS, or auto tranny shift problems????
If so, it's a clue to look to the speed sensor, located atop the rear differential housing.
The CC, speed-o, ABS, auto tranny, use it's signal output, so if it's corrupted, you'll likely be having problems with those other things too.
