You should be able to find them at a junk yard or even order some at-market belts through jc whitney (some of their's even come with install kits). I recently put in a shoulder harness into my 70 F100. I didn't need to much from the install kit, most of the old bolts were still there behind the seat. You just want to use grade 5 (or better) bolts to secure the belts.
Your '79 F150 came from the factory with a lap/shoulder belt combo. so you should be able to just find a '78-'79 in a junkyard & remove all you need to install in your truck!!

[font color=red size=3]Most guys want to put the lap/shoulder combo into their trucks, but you want just lap belts? -whatever;-) My '73 F100 came factory with just lap belts, I think the shoulder belts didn't come until '74 or '75 (not sure). So you could just pull them out of an older F series. They bolt to the floor, probably where your exhisting belts bolt. Probably a bolt in swap.
I have a '73 Ford F-250 that I would like to install shoulder harness seat belts in. The dealership told me that you couldn't do it because the I-beam wasn't strong enough. Could you tell me how you installed yours and where you were able to purchase the belts? Thank you.
check with your local laws becuase in some states if your truck came with a shoulder lap comb you can't go to a lap only. For those who want a shoulder lap comb this is usally a up grade in the safty equipment and is ok with most states. to convert to a shoulder lap combo. try a retactor that mounts to the floor with the 3rd point a loop and mount it to a reinforce area of the cab a area of double thickness in the steel or try cutting a hole below were you want the belt 3rd point and back plate its with some steel to reinforce area check with local laws as to how they require additional safty equipment be mounted
Try here http://www.andoauto.com/seat_belts.htm I have not used them yet but they claim to have shoulder belt conversion kits. From the information on the site it looks good.
