Locate head numbers
As sort of a newbie to this 460 engine I see all kinds of numbers thrown about, I assume these are model # for heads but where are they to be found. I looked on the front of mine and no luck, do I have to remove the valve covers? I have a 77 /460 and I am interested in finding out which type of heads I have. I know they have been decked and ported.

Johnsf,
Look on the top side of your heads. Kind of between the spark plugs. You should see a D3VE # on your heads. You do not have to remove the valve covers.
