i want to get 16" wheels for my 77 f250 4x4. will i have to do anything to the brake drum or will it clear it no problem? i plan in 35/14.5/16 boggers(no lift)will that work also?
16 inch wheels will fit. as for the 35's it dependes on if you have a high boy or not. Does it have a 390 or a 400? The one with the 390 might be a high boy. The one with the 400 is not.
boggers are a WIDE tire!! those 14.5's are gonna be closer to 15 on a 10 inch wheel.. the 77-79 are cosidered lowboys.. you can run a add aleaf in the front and rear for an easy 2-2.5 inches of lift for low buck, 70-80 bucks a piece for a pair of add aleafs... put those on a 78 and fit 35x12.5 on 16's with no problems...
Try 12-15 rims. I've got 15-38-15's on 14-15 rims and 6" lift system on my '79 Bronco and they balloned out for plenty of clearance...nice roostertails!
16 was an optional wheel on your truck the'll fit no problem. Just a note to those of you who don't know. Early 77 f250 4x4 with the "divorced" transfercase is the highboy (3 driveshafts) the later 77's or 77 1/2 f250 4x4 have the "married" tranfercase like the 78-79. 36.5 fit the highboy with no lift but will rub the steering on hard right turns if you have a late 77 you will have to lift it
